Author's Guidelines

RASĀYAN Journal of Chemistry (RJC) widely covers all branches of Chemistry including: Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Analytical, Biological, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Environmental, Agricultural & Soil, Petroleum, Polymers, Nanotechnology, Green Chemistry, Forensic, Phytochemistry, Synthetic Drugs, Computational, as well as Chemical Physics and Chemical Engineering.

Types of Manuscripts We accept
  • 1. Full-length paper:
    These are complete full reports of original research work that have no previously been published. The manuscript should be divided into the following sections: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgments (if any) and References

  • 2. Review Articles:
    They should be not exceeding 6000 words on topics of interest of general as well as specific readers of chemistry.

  • 3. Short/Rapid Communications:
    These are short report of preliminary research findings and should not exceed 2500 words. The text should be continuous (should not be broken up into sections), but an introduction paragraph is must. A short experimental paragraph may be included. Reports of extra ordinary importance may be submitted as Rapid communication; but there should be clearly mentioned, “Why rapid publication is merited?”

  • 4. Book Review:
    Authors may also submit their recently published books for Book Review.

Manuscript Preparation Instructions

  • General
    Detailed instructions on manuscript preparation and artwork instructions can be found below. The editor reserves the right to return manuscripts that do not conform to the instructions for manuscript preparation and artwork instruction, as well as paper that do not fit the scope of the journal, prior to refereeing.

  • Original Material
    Submission of an article in the Journal implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the Publisher.

  • Corresponding Author
    Clearly indicate who is responsible for correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, including post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. The corresponding author should be identified with an asterisk and footnote. All other footnotes (except for table footnotes) should be avoided.

  • Reviewers List
    It is highly recommended to submit a list of at least Three (3) experts who can act as potential reviewers. Please provide the names, addresses, and email addresses of these experts in the field of your paper who are personally unknown to you or any of the co-authors, are not members of the Editorial Board, are not from your or any of the co-authors’ institution and at least two of whom must be from a different country from you. The list of potential reviewers should be sent together in the manuscript submission email message.

Manuscript Structure

Follow this structure when drafting your manuscripts:

  1. Title

  • Text Layout
    Use 1.5 spacing and wide (3 cm) margins on white paper and full justification.
    Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Present tables and figure legends on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Number all pages consecutively and all line numbers starting afresh on each page; use 12 pt font size Times New Roman and standard fonts.

  • Abstract
    Each paper should be provided with an Abstract of about 100-200 words, reporting concisely on the purpose of the review paper.

  • Keywords
    Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of seven keywords (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of'). Only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.

  • Symbols
    Abbreviations for units should follow the suggestions of the British Standards publication BS 1991. The full stop should not be included in abbreviations, e.g. m (not m.), ppm (not p.p.m.), '%' and '/' should be used in preference to 'per cent' and 'per'.

  • Units
    Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If, in certain instances, it is necessary to quote other units, these should be added in parentheses. Temperatures should be given in degrees Celsius. The unit 'billion' is ambiguous and must not be used. It is preferred that units be of the format like mg/L and not mgL-1.

  • Mathematical notations and equations
    Authors should make clear any symbols (e.g. Greek characters, vectors, etc.) which may be confused with ordinary letters or characters. Duplicated use of symbols should be avoided where this may be misleading. Symbols should be defined as they arise in the text and separate Nomenclature should also be supplied. All equations should be word processed using the Microsoft Equation 3.0 wizard from the ‘Insert-Object’ option.

  • References
    References must be typed as Superscripted in text and in the following order: Initials and surname followed by the name of journal, Vol. No., page no. and year of publication (and for the book: name of book, Publisher, page No. and year),
    e.g.-
    H.Matsumoto, S.Hara, N.Nagata and K. Ikeda, Heterocyclic, 41, 47 (1995).
    M.Bodanszky and A.Bodanszky, Yhe Practice of Peptide Synthesis, Springer-Verlag, New York, p.78,91(1984).

  • Tables
    Tables should be numbered consecutively and given suitable captions and each table should begin on a new page. No vertical rules should be used. Tables should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscript (for example, in graphs). Footnotes to tables should be typed below the table and should be referred to by superscript lowercase letters.

  • Figures
    All figures should be numbered consecutively and given suitable captions and each figure should begin on a new page. Authors should also send all figures as high resolution JPEG figures (minimum 300 dpi) along with their MS Word single file manuscript.

  • Notification
    Corresponding authors will be notified of the acceptance of their paper by the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Copyright
    All authors must sign the Transfer of Copyright Agreement before the article can be published. This transfer agreement enables the Publisher to protect the copyrighted material for the authors, but does not relinquish the authors' proprietary rights. The copyright transfer covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm or any other reproductions of similar nature and translations. Authors are responsible for obtaining from the copyright holder permission to reproduce any figures for which copyright exists.

  • PDF Proofs
    One set of page proofs in PDF format will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author (After receiving Printing Charges), to be checked for typesetting/editing. The corrections should be returned within 72 hours. No changes in, or additions to, the accepted (and subsequently edited) manuscript will be allowed at this stage. Proofreading is solely the author's responsibility. Any queries should be answered in full. Please correct factual errors only, or errors introduced by typesetting.

Correction Policy

  1. If there is any correction in a manuscript once published, the authors are advised to inform the Editor immediately.
  2. Corrections are made at the journal’s discretion.
  3. The possibility of any correction depends on progress of publication process.
  4. The correction will be done in the manuscript and the corrected version will be uploaded with the same DOI.
  5. But, If the article has already published in a print issue of the journal, an erratum will be published in the next print issue only.
Retraction Policy

  1. Retraction of article(s) is sole discretion of the Editor-in-Chief. He may take opinion of the members of Editorial Board.
  2. Retraction may be considered in the following conditions:
    1. In case of Fabrication, Falsification and Plagiarism of the data.
    2. In case of duplicate publication, redundant publication and unethical research practices.
    3. Retraction process may be started on a written complaint against a published article.
    4. The retraction procedure depends on the publication stage of the article.
    5. If any manuscript found guilty of retraction, the manuscript will be replaced with a revised version watermarked as Retracted and a retraction notification will also be published in the next available print issue.
