Abstract

A new series of analogues of N-(4-(5-chlorobenzo[d]oxazol-2-yl)-2-methylphenyl)-2-(piperazin-1-yl) acetamideswas synthesised and characterised using melting point determination, elemental analysis, and spectral techniques(FTIR, ¹H NMR, and MS). The anticonvulsant activity of selected analogues was evaluated using the maximal electroshock-induced convulsion model in albino mice. Test compounds were administered intraperitoneallyat adose of 50 mg/kg body weight, and acute neurotoxicity was assessed with the rotarod apparatus. Among the testedanalogues, some exhibited superior potency, showing statistically significant activity compared with the referencedrug, phenytoin. Additionally, these compounds showed favourable molecular docking scores against the target protein.
