NOVEL SYNTHESIS OF S-DOPED ZnO NANOMATERIALS USING SELENICEREUS UNDATUS PEEL EXTRACTFORENHANCED UV PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATIONOFMETHYL ORANGE
This study used Selenicereus Undatus (Dragon fruit) peel extract as a natural reducing and stabilising agent to createsulfur-doped zinc oxide (S-doped ZnO) nanomaterials in a simple and environmentally acceptable manner. Inaddition to offering a sustainable substitute for traditional chemical synthesis methods, the bio-waste-derived extract improves the process's environmental friendliness. In order to alter ZnO's electrical structure and increase itsphotocatalytic effectiveness in the presence of UV light, sulfur doping was added. To verify the crystallinity, shape, and optical characteristics of the produced nanomaterials, methods including XRD, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, andSEM were used. Methyl orange (MO) dye degradation under UV light was used to assess the photocatalytic activityof the S-doped ZnO. The findings showed that the S-doped ZnO displayed.
