Abstract

A green, novel, and electrochemically driven synthetic approach has been established for the constructionof substituted pyridines through a one-pot condensation involving multicomponent reaction of structurally variedaldehydes, various thiols, and malononitrile using silica-supported piperazine. The catalyst silica-supportedpiperazine is recyclable, non-toxic and aligns with green chemistry principles. The method is time-efficient, cost- effective and scalable, making it suitable for pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
