Abstract

Nanocrystalline nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) was formulated by the sol-gel system using ferric nitrate, nickel nitrate andcitric acid as a precursors in aqueous solution. Aniline monomer was polymerized in-situ in the presence of preparedferrites in varying weight percentages (10%, 20%) to create conducting polyaniline nanocomposites(PANI/NiFe2O4). X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) analysis, and UV-visible spectroscopy were used to demonstrate the presence of NiFe2O4 inthenanocomposites. The structural, morphological, and optical characteristics of the PANI/NiFe2O4 nanocompositeswere thoroughly examined in relation to the impact of PANI replacement in nickel ferrite.
